Best Foe
A digital experience that translates the intensity of hardcore into identity, motion and online presence.
Built by Tatuí Tech and shown with the band's permission.

Context
Best Foe is a hardcore band from João Pessoa, in Paraíba, Brazil. The official website launched together with the EP Hardcore Is Not Dead and brings the record, the band, the shows, the videos, the gig calendar and contact into one place.
The idea was a website that opens in the middle of the show: loud, direct and made for the phone, without turning into a corporate page.
What we did
Hero
Live footage under a red filter, a manifesto headline, the Spotify player and the cover's devil animated alongside.
Preloader
The entry button plays the intro of “Warning”, and the EP carries on by itself in the official Spotify player.
Interactive cover
A WebGL shader pushes the cover's colours out of register, like a screen print, and makes them follow the cursor.
Live
Fourteen photos from two shows in an editorial grid, with a keyboard-navigable lightbox.
Gigs and contact
The gig calendar reads its dates from a single file and hides each show once it has happened. Contact goes straight to the band's WhatsApp and Instagram.
Visual direction
A poster pasted on a lamppost: the direction comes from street gig posters, with torn paper and flat red and black. Archivo and IBM Plex Mono for type; the logo and Daniel Ete's EP artwork come in as they are.

The website
From the preloader with sound to the gig calendar, each section works like a block of a poster: the cover becomes an interaction, the live photos get an editorial grid and the next show appears on its own.

Desktop and mobile
Recomposed for the phone, not shrunk: centred buttons, a fixed mini player, the calendar with the next show and direct contact on WhatsApp.
